James William Norton 19572022

James William Norton
1957-2022
It is with broken hearts that we announce the
passing of James William “Jim” Norton, age 64, of
Newtonville, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, on January
22, 2022, with his loving wife by his
side.
Born in Wolfville, Jim was a loving husband,
father and grandfather to three beautiful girls, Chloe, Ava and
Italy.
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years,
Sheila; daughter, Carrie (Kevin) Nichols of White Rock; son, Corey
Norton of Greenwich; mother, Hazel England of Port Williams; brother,
Jack Norton of Port Williams; sister, Sherry Young of New Minas;
father-in-law, Cecil (Kathryn) Davison of West Brooklyn and many
extended family members. Jim was predeceased by his father,
Harold Norton and stepfather, Bruce
England.
Jim worked at many jobs through his life
including Cornwallis Trucking, Norton Renovators, painting cars and
then owning his own business, Lake Ridge Sports until his health
started to decline. Jim could build or repair anything and
was an amazing wealth of knowledge.
One of Jim’s biggest passions was
playing the guitar, especially with the volume turned up
loud! Jim loved jamming with the guys and couldn’t
wait for practice nights. Jim also had a deep connection to
the ocean and loved to spend time with Sheila and Macey along the
shores, especially Canada Creek.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation or funeral service, at Jim’s request. A
celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory
may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been
entrusted to Whites funeral home and Cremation services,
Kentville.
