Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James Theodore Moonen at the Penticton Regional Hospital at the age of 86. Jim was born in Millet, Alberta, and the youngest of four children. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph (Joe) and Hilda, his sisters, Marcella and Ella and brother Clarence. He married the love of his life and soulmate, Eleanor in 1965. Eleanor passed away on March 24, 2018 leaving an empty spot in his heart. Left to mourn Jim are his sister-in-law’s, Vicki and Ann, many well-loved nieces and nephews and special cousins, Marvin and Carolyn. Jim and Eleanor had no children and took great pleasure over the years from their poodles, Buttons, Peppy and Tandy. Jim and Eleanor lived in Kamloops for many years before moving to Penticton in retirement. They had their home built in a newly constructed gated community in Red Wing Resorts. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing pool at the clubhouse with his buddies. He was a kind and gentle soul who was always there to help anyone out when his assistance was needed.
Special thanks to Dr. Isak Vander Westhuizen, staff at PRH and Interior Health as well as his good neighbors who were always there for Jim checking in on him daily the past month. There will be no funeral as per Jim’s request.
Rest in Peace Jim

they walk beside us every day,
unseen, unheard but always near,
still loved, still missed, and held so dear”
