Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial hospital on Friday April 1st, 2022, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Vera (nee Desabrais) for 61 years. Loving father of Brenda Hicks (Terry), and Peter McNeil. Proud grandfather of Ryan and Kelsey. Dear brother of Jean Houghton (Blair predeceased), Cathy Gertz (Gary), Morley (Joyce), Ivan (Diane), Helen Douglass (Dave), Joyce Marshall (Mervin), and Brian (Wendy). James will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews’ family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East, Orillia on Sunday June 26th at 1:30 p.m. followed by a reception.
