Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday December 30th, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Jim was the devoted husband of 47 years to Sheila (née Wessel). Proud father to John (Erin) and Erin Johns (Mike). Grandpa to Adrie, Jillian, Callum, Graham and Alice. He is survived by his brother Mike (Jeanette). Jim was predeceased by his parents Franklin and Kathleen. He will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jim will remember his many stories, willing smile, sense of humour and commitment to hard work. He would eagerly take on any new project with enthusiasm and attention to detail. Jim enjoyed sports of all kinds, travelling, family gatherings and visiting with friends.
Family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Road on Wednesday, January 5th between 1 – 3 and 6 – 8pm. A celebration of his life will be on Thursday January 6th at 11am at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff and physicians at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on C3 and to the V.O.N for the compassionate care that they provided to Jim. Donations in Jim’s memory can be made to NoahStrong or to the Callander Public Library (cheques only). Online condolences can be made at www.hillsidefuneral.ca. As per current COVID-19 directives, the total number of attendees is limited, social distancing requirements must be respected, and masks or face coverings are required inside the funeral home.
