James Miller Ballantyne
1939-2022
It is with great sadness, but with cherished memories that we announce the passing of James Ballantyne (Jim) on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the age of 82. Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife, Katie Ballantyne; and his two children, Mark (Melinda) Ballantyne and Cindy Ballantyne. Jim will also be deeply missed by his four grandchildren, Brandon (Ballantyne) McDonald, Dylan Ballantyne, Hayley Ballantyne and Jordan McDonald.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Isabella Ballantyne; and his seven siblings.
Jim was born in 1939 in Glasgow, Scotland. He travelled to Canada in 1967 where he met the love of his life, Katie. Jim and Katie spent 54 amazing years showing the world what true love looked like. During this time they welcomed two beautiful children and four grandchildren into the world.
Jim had a way of brightening any room he entered. From his contagious smile to his heavy Scottish accent, he was able to speak to anyone with ease and laughter. A man who would do absolutely anything for his family and was the first to bring up his grandchildren in any conversation, the proudest man. Jim always had a passion for cars and backyard escapes, always having a perfectly groomed garden, he was a lover of all animals, having bird sanctuaries, backyard ponds, dogs and many more throughout the years. We will never forget the sparkle in his eyes or his ability to always find the positives in any situation. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of James Miller Ballantyne June 23rd 2022..
