As a young man he joined the military
and served his country as a member of the Calgary Highlanders. He had
a great sense of humour and loved to laugh. He had a heart of gold and
would give to anyone in need. Jim was known for his direct approach
and it was not hard to know what he was thinking. He made an
impression on everyone he met, and was one in a million. He had a
special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved dog
Lexi. Jim lived for his family, raising 4 children on his own, legally
blind. He was always involved in their lives, and called his grandson
every morning to crow like a rooster. He loved leaving long messages
on the phone, and meowing with his grand-kitty “Mr. Kitty”
He was a TV buff, and could quote any Seinfeld episode. He would want
to be remembered for all of the good times, and laughs shared. As Jim
would say “what if there is no tomorrow, there wasn’t
one today!”
