James Leroy Fewster Tuesday June 14th 2022

James “Jim” Leroy Fewster –
December 14, 1943 – June 14, 2022
Jim passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022 with his family by his side. While Jim fought a 23 year‐long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinson’s Dementia, he battled whole heartedly to the very end.
Jim will be dearly missed by his wife Helen of 54 years, his children Susan (Jim King) and Neil (Charmaine) as well as his two beautiful granddaughters Marisa and Ella. Predeceased by his parents Ross and Hazel Fewster.
Survived by his brother Robert (Marlene) Fewster, his sister Ruth (Fred) Onbelet and sisters‐in‐law Audrey (Fred) Herman and Shirley (Ernie) Rutledge. Jim will also be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Jim was born in Ingersoll, Ontario where he spent his formative years and pursued a career as a Journeyman
Lineman with the Ingersoll Public Utilities then Guelph Hydro/Alectra.
Upon retirement Jim and Helen became snowbirds in Panama City Beach, Florida where Jim excelled in his newfound hobby of carving. He enjoyed carving at Noah’s Ark, the Panama City Beach Seniors Carving Club then continued at home at the Guelph Carving Club. In Panama City Beach Jim and Helen made many good friends and enjoyed their home with family and friends alike. Jim will be missed by all of his friends from both sides of the border. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Eramosa Neighbourhood Staff at The Village of Riverside Glen for the care, compassion and kindness given to Jim over what has been noted as the most difficult time in the history of Canadian Healthcare. You will not be forgotten. *421
Jim, Dad, Grandpa, we love you and Rest In Peace ‐ you will be with each of us, always.
The family will hold a private internment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
An Open House Visitation will take place at Gilbert McIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel Fellowship Lounge, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, Ontario on Tuesday, June 21st from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Jump Start (Guelph) or Parkinson’s Society of Canada, which represent two very important parts of Jim’s life ‐ his love of sport and the disease that took him from us. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home or online following the links below. (NOTE: Jumpstart link will be added later today, please check back)
