James Kinloch Jim Towns Monday January 3rd 2022

On January 3rd, 2022 James (Jim) Towns died at the age of 73. Born in Glasgow, Scotland the only child of Jean and David Towns. Jim married Anne Ramsay in 1967 and shortly after immigrated to Canada. Starting off in Toronto with their good friends Mary and John Connelly they built a life in Canada and shared many good times. Eventually after many moves they ended up raising their three children in Burlington where they enjoyed many happy years. Jim was a baker for Dominion for many years before retiring in 2007. Jim had many great friends and enjoyed many years of travel, concerts and golf with them. Jim loved having a good beer and entertaining and even in his last days Jim was still requesting someone to sneak a beer in for him. He will be greatly missed by his family for his easy going temperament, trivial facts and sense of humour. He is survived by his wife Anne of 54 years, children Amanda (Chris), Nicola (Joe) and Jon (Krystal) and 7 grandchildren Julia, Lauren, Kyle, Ashley, Jessica, Brodie and Brooke. No funeral or visitation will be held but the family asks instead to call and arrange a home visit with Anne if so desired. The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
