Kerr, James Frederick “Jim”:
Passed away peacefully after a long battle with Cerebellum Degeneration Ataxia, diabetes and dementia, on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 76.
Beloved husband of Alice (Mainland) for 50 years.
Loving father of Brad (Allyson Hopkins) and Karen (Glen Halsey).
Dear brother of Jane Gardner (Abner Baer).
Predeceased by parents, Charles and Doris (Helm).
Jim spent three years in the military following high school which turned into many years of volunteering with Scouts Canada and a life long passion for all things military. Jim enjoyed a 30 year career with Canada Post. Upon retirement, he also volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Jim’s family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. Those unable to attend may join the service via live stream at www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Diabetes Canada or St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
