Obituary
On Monday July 25, 2022, husband and best friend to Shannon Kelly, and adoring father of Joe and Alex, passed away surrounded by loved ones at home at the age of 40. Predeceased by his mother Linda, and dearly missed by his father John, brothers Nathan (Brooke) and Darcy (Keith), and the most amazing family of aunts, uncles, and cousins anyone could ask for.
Born in Kingston, ON, Jamie was raised with a strong work ethic and a love of dairy farming. He always worked hard from the time he could walk. Jamie couldn’t wait to be big and strong enough to push in the clutch on his dad’s old David Brown 995 tractor, because it meant he could drive it by himself (he thinks he was 8 years old when he reached that milestone). In 2008, at the age of 26, Jamie bought a farm in Millbrook and moved the family farm to be able to expand. He doubled the dairy, added cash cropping, and eventually custom work to the operation.
Jamie would tell you his life started the day his first child was born. He was the most patient and caring daddy to Joe and Alex. No matter how busy he was on the farm or how bad he felt during his cancer treatments, he always put playing with the boys at the top of his list.
Following Jamie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In memory of Jamie, donations can be made to Hospice Peterborough or the Canadian Cancer Society.
