James Duncan Lamont
1982-2022
James ‘Duncan’ Lamont passed away on June 6, 2022 at the
age of 39 after losing his battle with mental illness. He is survived
by three children who he loved dearly, Jonathan, Kristopher and Vance.
James was the chosen son of, Ted and Phyllis Lamont, his sister Debbie
(Denis) and nephew Mack, his grandmother Delores Lamont, his
biological mother, Karen Hicks, his friend and partner for much of his
adult life, Sandie Lamont and his girlfriend, Stephanie Brown. He
leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss him
greatly, including his cousin and lifelong friend, John DeMerchant,
who was a constant support person for James throughout his life.
James was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Mary
Bradstreet and his paternal grandfather, James Duncan Lamont, after
whom he was named and who was his ultimate hero.
James grew up in Bristol and from a very young age could fix almost
anything so it was no surprise to family and friends that he ended up
becoming a mechanic, a job that he was good at and enjoyed. James was
a member of the Bristol and Miramichi Fire Departments, serving with
the Fire Department and giving back to his community gave him a great
sense of accomplishment. James and his family eventually moved to the
Fredericton area and he spent the last several years working at
Haley’s Auto Service where he tormented Sean Haley and
co-workers daily.
James was clever, sarcastic and had a unique sense of humor. He may
have thought at times that he was difficult to love but this was most
definitely not the case. He was impossible to stay mad at. He will
be missed more than words can express and absolutely no one will be
better off because he is gone, even if he was not able to understand
that.
Other than his children, nothing brought James more joy than being on
the back of his motorcycle. We hope that he has found the peace he
desired and freedom from his struggles riding in the clouds.
Visitation will be held L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham
Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 1-2 pm. A

three children for those that may wish to contribute.
