James Dean Mitchell (Jimmy) – age 58, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022. Jimmy was a member of the Class of ’82, Holston High School. He worked as a self-employed carpet installer.
Preceded in death by parents, Tim and Carolyn Mitchell; brothers, Dennis Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, and Wesley Mitchell; and sisters, Sara Collins, and Tammy Ogle.
Survived by son, James Dean Mitchell II; daughters, Tabatha Nicole Mitchell (Jacob), Brittany Hope Mitchell, and Kayla Shannon-Franklin; brother, Tim (Jackie) Mitchell; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; aunt, Nancy Ragusa; and cousin, Arliss Gant (Kansas City, MO). The family granted consent to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. Jimmy’s donated organs have given an extended life to 3 recipients thus far.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022, at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM at Community Cemetery in Luttrell, TN for an 11:00 AM interment with Rev. Tim Dennis officiating. The family welcomes flowers to be sent to Bridges Funeral Home or donations may be made to Tennessee Donor Services in memory of James “Jimmy” Mitchell.
