It is with great sadness that we share news of the sudden passing of Bruce. Bruce will be greatly missed by his partner Theresa Rasmussen and her daughter Lisa (Darren Moilanen), his children Jason (Ramie) and Allison (David Fortier), and his grandchildren Peyton and Piper Lewis, Amelia, Killian and Beatrice Fortier, and Lauren Moilanen.
Despite having been born and reared in Calgary, Bruce found true happiness in B.C. Known lovingly as “Pops” to his grandchildren, Bruce lived his life without pretence. He enjoyed nothing more than sitting by the pool at home in Duncan, whiling away sunny afternoons surrounded by family and friends. Bruce loved to banter, and his considerable conversational skills were complemented perfectly by a quick wit, a dry sense of humour and a captivatingly low and gravely voice that would have been the envy of his favourite childhood radio DJs. Bruce will be remembered lovingly for his many and varied interests, his fondness for jazz music, his passion for good food and wine, and, most of all, his love of a good laugh.
A private celebration in Bruce’s memory will be held this fall.
