James Bob McIntosh July 22 1927 March 3 2022

VE7 DDD
It is with heavy hearts & wonderful memories that we announce the passing of our Beloved Father, Grandpa and Uncle.
Bob, was born in Russell, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his parents and is the last surviving of his six siblings, Bob and Bill being the youngest of two sets of twins. Sadly, he was also recently predeceased by his nephew Gerry McIntosh.
Phyllis his beloved wife of 51 years passed away in 2002. Dad will be sadly missed by his Daughters, Charmaine (Steve), Maureen (Dave), Linda (Henry) & Son, Rod (Anna) He was the proud Grandpa to Ryan (Brittany), Josh & Joseph & a new baby Great-Granddaughter. He was special to Nieces Pat Davies, Pat Lough, Karen Hildebrand & Sister-in-Law, Ina Harford.
Bob moved to Victoria and began an early career in the Navy. He met his soon to be bride Phyllis, while renting an attic room at 225 Quebec Street, now a local restaurant. His employment changed to roofing and for 30 years co-owned Capital City Roofing & Flooring, a long-time business at “The One Stop” on Oak Bay Avenue. Finishing as a Commissionaire prior to retiring.
Soon after marrying, Phyllis & Bob purchased their family home on Jackson Street and there Bob tended a garden abundant in produce along with 15 fruit trees. Keeping us all busy with chores!
Retirement brought a change to condo living and a new project of love for Bob, a two room cottage on Pender Island. This included building amenities which allowed years of enjoyment for Mom & Dad and many fun family weekends.
Bob lived his life by keeping busy and enjoying people! He had a deep Faith in God and a Genuine and Unconditional Love for his Family.
His passions were diverse, a long-standing member of the Victoria Curling Club, avid in the Ham Radio community, an artist, lawn bowling and his Pender Island cottage brought him so much joy.
In later years, Bob was a resident at St Francis Manor, The Cridge & The Selkirk and immersed himself in many activities. His family is grateful for the care and kindness which Bob received in each of these, he called home.
Bob was always available to give a helping hand to anyone he found in need. A kid at heart, he brought smiles and laughter to anyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive, on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
