Obituary
It is with sadness the family announce the sudden passing of Bev Ewen on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Much loved husband of Lynne Metcalfe, father to Valerie and Kristian (Sonia) and very proud grandfather to Jackson, Fiona, Daphnée and Oscar. He will be fondly remembered by cousin Blanche Simpson and former wife Janet Ewen as well as too many friends and family to include here.
Bev was a retired high school teacher who was never at a loss for words. He loved telling stories about all his travels he and Lynne took through Europe and across North America. His love of history led him to being an active member of the Kirkfield and District Historical Society where he could share his love of his hometown. He also spent decades researching and creating family trees, connecting his family back generations.
Above all though he was immensely proud of his grandkids and any chance he could he would be in the stands or the theatre or virtually cheering them on then bragging about them later.
A service will be held on Monday, May 9 at 1pm at Knox Presbyterian church 147 Simcoe St N Oshawa. Masks are required. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Kirkfield
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Knox Presbyterian Church, Feed the Need or the Alzheimer’s Society, or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank friends and family for all of their support and care at this difficult time especially Brad and Barb McNutt for all the have done for Bev and Lynne.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of James Beverly Ewen September 22 1943 April 27 2022 (age 78)..
