Allison, James (Jim) It is great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim at Hastings Manor Long -term care in Belleville on Friday April 8, 2022 in his 90th year. Born in Bellshill, Scotland Jim moved with his family to Corby Northhamptonshire, England. Jim immigrated to Canada when he was just 21 years old and although he went back to the U.K. many times to visit family and to vacation, he never looked back, Canada became his home.
He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Allison , dear father of Sandra Riggers (Terry) , Laura Mourits (Gary)
and step dad to Debbie Kuehl (Brent). Proud Grandfather to Kendall, Dylan and Tristan, and Great Grandad to Falon, Norah and Finlay . Jim was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Allison. The eldest of 4 siblings, he is survived and will be greatly missed by brothers, Sam , Arthur and Frank, and fondly remembered by his sister and brother in law, Gerald and Iris Sanderson, many nieces and nephews both in the U.K. and here in Canada.
In respect of Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation ,but a Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 12 – 2 p.m.at the Brighton Funeral Home, 130 Main St. Brighton. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or a charity of your choice.
