On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Jacob (Jake) .T. Unrau passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Hospital at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 20 days.
Jacob T Unrau was born on may 2, 1943 at Horndean MB to Diedrich & Marie Unrau. In 1957 they moved to MacGregor, MB from Grunthal, MB.
In 1964 he was baptized on the confession of his faith in the Reinland Church near Austin, MB. In November of 1962 he met the love of his life. They got married on July 5, 1964, at the Reinland Church near Austin, MB.
The first 2 years of their marriage they lived in Portage La Prairie where he worked at Greys welding. In 1966 they moved to a farm north of MacGregor on Orangeville Road. In the spring of 1968 they started with shipping cream and later that fall they started shipping milk.
Then in 1970 they bought and moved to Grandpa Uhrau’s farm where they owned and operated a dairy farm for just about 30 years.
Dad taught Sunday School for Several years in Reinland Church and then also in the Sommerfeld Church until he was asked to be a song leader which he faithfully did for about 38 yrs. He was also very involved with the local MCC stores and served on the board for many years and helped organize the Brandon MCC Sale.
