The family announces with heavy hearts the peaceful passing of Jack McPhee, at his home of 65 years, with his family by his side, on June 23, 2022. He grew up in Cochrane, Ontario, and moved to Kapuskasing at the age of 17 to start a 42-years career as a pipe fitter at Spruce Falls Pulp and Paper company. Jack met and married the love of his life, Geraldine, and they raised 6 children together. He enjoyed 35 years of retirement, wintering in Florida, and enjoying the summers at their cottage at Remi Lake. Jack loved to putter and could fix almost anything. There wasn’t a lawnmower he didn’t want to add to his collection.
Jack will be greatly missed by his children: Lynn Ritchie, Dale McPhee, John McPhee, Jane Belanger (Luc) all of Kapuskasing and Joan McPhee of Moonbeam; his grandchildren: Kevin Ritchie, Ryan Ritchie (Samantha) Garrett Ritchie (Erin), Amanda Belanger (Mike), Sheldon Belanger, Braden Belanger, Jordan Hillman (Taylor), Neil Belanger (Brandon); his great-grandchildren: Mason Ritchie, Emily Ritchie, Abigail Ritchie, Alyssa Ritchie, and Gillian Ritchie. He also leaves to mourn his brother, Lloyd McPhee; two sisters-in-law: Doris Jagosz, and Diane Lavigne (Maurice); one brother-in-law, George Ethier; and many nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Geraldine; his oldest son, Bruce; and his sister, Elva Hanlan.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Le cœur lourd, la famille annonce le décès paisible de Jack McPhee, entouré de sa famille, à son domicile depuis 65 ans, le 23 juin 2022. Il a grandi à Cochrane, Ontario, et déménagea à Kapuskasing à l’âge de 17 ans, afin de lancer sa carrière de 42 ans comme monteur de tuyaux, chez la compagnie Spruce Falls Pulp and Paper. Jack a rencontré et épousé le grand amour de sa vie, Géraldine, et ils ont élevé 6 enfants ensemble. Jack a profité de sa retraite pendant 35 ans, passant les hivers en Floride et jouissant des étés au chalet du lac Rémi. Jack aimait bretter et pouvait réparer n’importe quoi, ou presque. Il n’y avait pas de tondeuse que Jack ne désirait pas ajouter à sa collection.
Jack manquera grandement à ses enfants : Lynn Ritchie, Dale McPhee, John McPhee, Jane Belanger (Luc), tous de Kapuskasing, et Joan McPhee de Moonbeam; ses petits-enfants : Kevin Ritchie, Ryan Ritchie (Samantha), Garrett Ritchie (Erin), Amanda Belanger (Mike), Sheldon Belanger, Braden Belanger, Jordan Hillman (Taylor), Neil Belanger (Brandon); ses arrière-petits-enfants : Mason Ritchie, Emily Ritchie, Abigail Ritchie, Alyssa Ritchie, et Gillian Ritchie. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil son frère, Lloyd McPhee; deux belles-sœurs : Doris Jagosz, et Diane Lavigne (Maurice); un beau-frère, George Ethier; et plusieurs nièces et neveux. Il fut prédécédé par son épouse bien-aimée de 63 ans, Géraldine; son fils ainé, Bruce; et sa sœur, Elva Hanlan.
La famille tiendra une célébration de la vie en privé à une date ultérieure. La famille sera très reconnaissante de dons à une charité de votre choix.
