In loving memory of Jack Eino Luhta 80 years. Passed away at Health Sciences North on Friday, January 21st, 2022. Beloved husband of Roselee (nee McCrea) predeceased in 2015. Loving father of Carrie Luhta and James Luhta (Elizabeth). Cherished Papa of Kristy and Jack. Predeceased by his parents William and Marion Luhta and siblings Norma, Martin, Gordon, and Lorna. Survived by his brother William Jr. (Bonnie), and sister Marlene (Bernie). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jack was born in Garson on July 25th, 1941. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Navy. He worked for many years at INCO, and was proud of his time served in exploration, the iron ore plant, the rolling mill and finished his career in the nickel refinery. He was an avid hunter and spent many deer hunting seasons on Cockburn Island with his family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences North 5th floor south tower, and 4th floor north tower for their care. At his request there will be no visitation or service. He will be buried alongside his wife in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Thessalon at a later date. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
