Bennett, Jacinta Marie “Cindy” of Edmonton and
formerly of East Havre Boucher passed away on August 23, 2022, in
Vancouver General Hospital. Cindy was on vacation in BC when
she became ill and passed away unexpectedly.
Born in Antigonish on October 5, 1957, she was the first born
and only daughter of the late Xavier and Della (DeCoste)
Bennett.
Cindy held various jobs in Halifax including the Dresden Arms
and Russell Food Equipment. Cindy loved her brothers and her
family and took special joy in spending time with her nieces and
nephews. She made lots of trips back East to have lobster
feasts with her family and share fits of laughter, which left
wonderful memories of time spent with her.
Cindy was looking forward to retirement and was planning to
move back home to her beloved community of East Havre
Boucher. She had many lifelong friends in Nova Scotia that
she always stayed in touch with and kept close to her heart.
She made many friends in Alberta, too, and considered many of them her
extended family.
She is survived by her brothers, Clem (Anita), East Havre
Boucher; Peter (Cynthia), Grande Prairie, AB; Clifford (Adele),
Barrio’s Beach; and Ian (Pam), East Havre Boucher; nieces and nephews,
Melanie, Michael, Jarrett, Javon, Autumn, Maeve, Xavier, Travis, Noah,
Sam, Rhett, Rubee, Emma, Matty, Gracie, and Ryan.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering
will be held on Monday, September 5, at Shalom Park, Leduc County,
Alberta at 1:00pm. A visitation and funeral to be held in
Havre Boucher will be announced shortly on the website of C.L. Curry
Funeral Home, Antigonish, at www.clcurry.com.
In Memoriam, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a
charity of your choice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jacinta Marie Cindy Bennett 2022..
