A community-minded individual, he helped with Le Festival d’la Barge and was a devoted and faithful member of Holy Family Church. He enjoyed traveling to Ste-Anne-de Beaupré and will be remembered by many for driving his bicycle well into his eighties. He is survived by his devoted caregiver and long-time friend, Judy (Bruce) Belliveau, along with Judy and Bruce’s daughter, Suzette (Norm) Belliveau-Legault; brothers, Arthur Landry, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton; Lionel Landry (friend Cheryl), Yarmouth and Fidelis Landry, Kentville; a sister, Celestine Landry, Saulnierville, and a niece, Cheryl, Yarmouth. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Rose-Aimée Landry and Bernadette Landry; brothers, Zacherie Landry and Léander Landry. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, with prayers at 7 p.m., at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 16 from Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Cyrille Assihou and Father Albéni d’Entremont officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Donations in memory of Kinkie may be made to the Tri-County site of the VON or to Holy Family Cemetery Fund. A special thanks to Carolann and Kerry at Arbours of Tranquility, and previously to Gérard Cottreau of Tusket Seniors’ Home, for the excellent care they gave Kinkie during his stay with them. A special thanks to Kinkie’s best friend, Hayden Landry for all the help over the years, to Shirley Surette for her daily phone conversations with Kinkie, and to Janice and Irvin Moulaison for their regular visits and for those special treats – he was grateful for every one of you and loved you all!
