RIDDELL Ivy – Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at Northland Pointe, in her 95th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth. Loving mother of Andrew, David (Karen), Dan and Nadine Matthews (Bill). Cherished grandmother of Derek, Christopher (Brittany), Natalie and step grandmother of Ryan (Kristen) and Madison. Great grandmother to Abigail, Ava and Evie. Dear sister of Fred Hill and Beatrice Brough (Alex). Predeceased by her parents Charles and Dorothy Hill, her brother Walter Hill, daughter in law Norine and sister in law Barbara Hill, brother in law Jack (Pina) Riddell, sisters in law Helen (Ted) Swain, Gloria (Ray) Golding.
Ivy was a member of the founding committee of Niagara South Rowing Club, served on the Welland City Council (1973 – 1984), Regional Council of Niagara (1984 – 1994_, was Chairman of the Rose Festival for 2 years, member of the Board od Directors Association of Municipalities of Ontario, a member of St. David’s Church, member of Welland Industrial Development Commission, Niagara Regional Development Corporation.
Beloved by family and friends and known by all as a social butterfly, Ivy was always upbeat and positive., she enjoyed making new friends her whole life. A very special thank you to Dr. Wilson, Nurses, PSW’s and all the staff at Northland Pointe for their compassion and kindness during our mothers stay.
The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 from 10a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a service to celebrate Ivy’s life in the Cudney Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday
