Obituary
Ivy Loretta Rillie Roustan Draper
(1934-2022)
Ivy passed away peacefully at Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital on March 12, 2022, surrounded by the love of her four children. She was six days shy of her 88th birthday.
Born and raised in Montreal, Ivy was full of life, with an endless well of love and talent. She was a single mother and a hero to her children. Ivy was a multi-talented artist in different media, including painting, church banner-making, quilting, and costume design. She was also a talented performing artist who enjoyed a lifetime of singing, dancing, and acting in multiple musical theatre productions. She sang with the South Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, Mississippi Muds, The Town Singers, and also as a soloist in numerous church choirs, to mention a few. She loved entertaining and was lots of fun to be with!
Ivy will be forever loved and missed by her children: Wayne Roustan (Angela), Walter Graeme Roustan, Christine Martins (Paul), and Heather Ogg (Derek); by her grandchildren: April, Olivia, Kelly, Keven, Lege, Dayy, Sarah and Lindsay; by her nieces and nephews, and by her many dear friends.
Ivy is survived by her loving sister Mavis Garnett.
May Ivy rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
– Irish Blessing
