Obituary for
Isabelle Brezinski
Isabelle was born to Mike and Anne Belitsky (nee Matsalla) on March 16, 1935 in the Sturgis District in Saskatchewan. As a young girl, she attended Badgerdale school. She married Edmund Brezinski on August 16, 1953 and started their life together on a farm near Rama, Saskatchewan. They had their daughter Darlene and later moved to Edmonton, Alberta in July 1956. It was there that they built their lives and completed their family with a son, Calvin and another daughter, Candace.
Isabelle had many hobbies and talents. ..as her daughters and granddaughters grew up, she had a passion for sewing their many outfits and matching pajamas… often creating matching miniature outfits for their dolls as well! She also loved gardening… her huge garden including three apple trees resulted in a bountiful harvest of vegetables to can and many fruit pies, jams, and jellies! Another talent Isabelle had was her love to cook for her family. She enjoyed making cabbage rolls and perogies… but her grandchildren’s favorites were her homemade cinnamon buns and donuts. When she wasn’t sewing, cooking, baking or gardening, Isabelle’s favourite activity was stopping into a casino to play the slot machines! She loved meeting and talking to other people who enjoyed this same pastime! Lastly, Isabelle enjoyed travelling to warm, sunny destinations like Hawaii, Mexico, and spending the winter months in Arizona.
Isabelle is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, her three children; Darlene (Jim) Strukalo, Calvin Brezinski, and Candace (Doug) Kroetsch, all from Edmonton, eight grandchildren;
Cristy (Johnny) Viberg of Calgary, Noelle (Jason) Yeremiy of Petawawa, Heather (Jeff) MacPherson of Canmore, Laura (Josh) Vermette of Beaumont, Cameron (Kennedy) Brezinski of Edmonton, Carson Brezinski of Kelowna, Connor Kroetsch of Edmonton, Hailey Kroetsch of Edmonton; ten great-grandchildren; Isabella, Waylon, Molly, Conrad, Logan, Hayden, Isla, Brielle, Jones and Etta, and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, three brothers; Bernard, Murray, and Lawrence; three sisters; Lucy Grodzinski, Helen Ducheminsky, and Adeline Dranchuk.
