Obituary of Iris Amy Barnham
January 8, 1937 – November 12, 2022
With heavy and peaceful hearts, we announce the passing of Iris Amy Barnham in her 86th year. Iris was a kind and caring person with a smile that could light up a room. Predeceased by her devoted husband John (2014). Cherished Mom to Cindy and David (Carol). Fun-loving Nanny to Ashton McKay. Special friend to Ed Novosel, sister to Shirley Fernandez, David Wray, the late Ken Wray and Auntie and friend to many. Iris and John married in 1957 and a few months later crossed the Atlantic (10 days by boat, they would remind us), venturing out to the new world of opportunities. They took up residence in Hamilton, Grimsby and settled in Stoney Creek. After raising her family, Iris spent many years in retail sales, the most enjoyable in cosmetics at Eaton’s. Once Iris retired, she was able to spend her time with her true passion of dance, joining City Lights and the Geritol Follies. No words can express our appreciation and thanks to Samantha and Diane of Senior Homecare by Angels for their support, love, and companionship over these last few months. Our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Amica Stoney Creek and Heritage Green for the care and friendship they provided to our Mom over the years. The family will have a private celebration of life.
