Obituary for Irene McMillan
(nee DeGuire)
Our beautiful mother is once again in the arms of her beloved husband Gordon (1991). On June 3, 2022, just two days after the passing of her sister Jeannette, whom she followed in everything, Irene joined many loved ones in Heaven.
Wonderful mother to Teresa (Michael), Elly (Derrick), and John (Debra). Loving Mémé of four grandchildren: Brittany (Dan), Brennan, Danyelle (Mathew) and Derek. Survived by her sister Hélène. Predeceased by her parents Henri and Cordelia DeGuire, and siblings Jeannette, Marie-Anne, Simonne, Réné, Maurice, Henry, and Réal. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Irene’s best attributes were her kindness, quick wit, and creativity. As Assistant Director of Lyon Street Dance Academy and Performance Dance Academy, she was an integral part of studio life from costume design and execution to administration.
Our deepest gratitude for the Bayshore PSWs and staff at Cardinal Place, the outstanding care by Dr. Dina Ozols, and the exceptional compassion shown by the Emergency room and 7th floor staff, nurses, and doctors of Windsor Regional Hospital.
If desired, donations to the Windsor & Es County Humane Society or Street Help Homeless Shelter would be appreciated. Family and friends are invited to share their memories at www.kennedyfh.com
As per her wishes there will be a private service. Irene will be placed with her husband at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life is planned for 2023.
