Roger Doucette, 75 of Moncton, NB passed away suddenly at his residence, on Friday, June 17, 2022.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Maria Doucette (Cormier).
Roger was a kind and caring soulmate to his wife Diane for 52 years. He was an amazing father to his 2 children then became the most fun-loving pépère to his two granddaughters and was thrilled to become a great pépère this past May. His favourite times were being surrounded by “all his babies”. He enjoyed the outdoors doing a lot of camping and fishing.
Roger served his country in the Canadian Armed Forces for 32 years. He returned to Moncton upon retirement and started working at the Greater Moncton International Airport as a commissionaire/volunteer for over 20 years.
Roger will be sadly missed by his daughter, Monique (Macky) Bartlett of Haute-Aboujagane; his son, Michael (late Shauna) of Miramichi; two granddaughters: Melanie Paquin and Caitlin Bartlett; one great-grandson: Logan; his siblings: John (Kathy) of Moncton, Ronnie (Joanne) of Kingston, ON, Anna (France) of Grande-Digue, Jackie McGraw (Richard) and Don (Collette) both of Shediac; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife: Diane (Bourgeois) in 2020; his sister: Roberta (infant).
Visitation will be held at Passage-Chartersville (363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB E1A 1G1, # 857-1901), on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 7 pm to 9 pm and on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 10 am to 10:50 am followed by the funeral service at the Chapel at 11 am.
Interment in Passage-Chartersville Columbarium, Dieppe.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Greater Moncton SPCA.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. We would like to extend a special thank you to Edina Dokane Nagy who also cared for our mother before taking care of our father. Her compassion and attention to all of our parents’ needs went above and beyond.
The family invites you to sign an online book of condolences at: www.funerairepassagefuneral.ca.
