It is with great sadness, that the family of Leo Y. LeBlanc, of Veterans Health Centre, Moncton and formerly of Dieppe, announces his passing on October 27th, 2022.
Born in Dieppe on September 15, 1925, he was the son of the late Arthur and the late Marie (Cormier) LeBlanc.
Leo worked as an accounting clerk at Université de Moncton until his retirement in 1989. He attended Ste-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church in Dieppe. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the 2nd World War. He was a 3rd degree life member of Council No. 1310 Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 6 with 75 years of service and a life member of the Dieppe Military Veterans Association. He enjoyed socializing with friends and spending quality time with his family.
Leo is survived by his daughter, Bernice (Walter) Dunfield of Moncton; his son, Roger of Moncton; his granddaughter, Christine (Denis) Jalbert of Dieppe, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 76 years, Evelyn; his sisters: infant Mary, Bella, Eveline, Mae, Rita, Leona, Anita and Theresa and also by his brothers: Rene, Roy and Ronald. Leo was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
By request, there will no visitation.
Funeral service will be held from Passage – Chartersville Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB, (506) 857-1901, on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 at 11 am, with Father Arthur Bourgeois officiating.
The Dieppe Veterans will have a service prior to the funeral.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Veterans’ Health Centre for the excellent care provided to Leo over the past few years.
