Illa Korsch 1938 2022

Obituary of Illa Korsch
On May 21, 2022 surrounded by her family, Illa Wilhelmina Korsch passed away.
Illa was born in Staldzen Latvia on November 21, 1938 and immigrated to Canada in 1952 where she met the love of her life, husband Karl. They were married on March 16, 1957 and cherished 65 years together. These years have passed in a blink.
Illa was a devoted wife to husband Karl and a dedicated mother to her three children: Lila Fifi, Ruth Lussier (Maurice) and Martin Korsch. She adored her five grandchildren: Ryan Fifi (Melissa), Amanda Fifi, Jessica Krahn (Kris), Emily Korsch (Andrew) and Luc Korsch. Her only great granddaughter Maelle Krahn was the icing on her cake.
She always kept close to her heart her predeceased family members, two grandchildren: Scott Fifi and Jennifer Lussier and son-in-law David Fifi.
Illa loved hosting festive occasions for family and friends. She had a quick wit and loved to poke fun.
She was a selfless caregiver, gifted home maker and talented needleworker. She had many beautiful qualities but her love for her family topped them all.
She will be greatly missed.
The memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care in Ila’s name.
Family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Reimer, staff at Bethesda Hospital, Home Care, Palliative Care and Bridge Park Manor for their care and compassion.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Illa
