Ignatius… “Nishy”, son, brother, veteran, husband, father… keeper of the house on the hill. He was many things to many people. A man who went to war young and came back much older. A veteran who wore his war medals with pride and whose armour after the war was his rosary beads, for prayer often comforted his dreams. A hero to grandkids and great grandkids, dearly loved by them all. He loved his “Lil” and his children, grand and great grandchildren. Nish loved to walk, pick berries and beachcomb with Mom for lucky rocks.
A man with determination, who never gave up. He would help anyone in need, take them in, out of the cold in a storm, even a stranger. He was compassionate, often with a smirk, who loved playing tricks and telling jokes.
A man who loved and was loved, weak in health but strong of character. He missed people and family, and had an incredible memory of days gone by… we will miss him dearly.
The last man standing… is now dancing with Mom… “after all these years”
