It is with heavy hearts, we the family of Ida
May Elizabeth (Gabriel) Silvea, 94 years, of
Springhill, NS, announce her passing on November 14, 2022 at the
Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, with her loving
family by her side. Born in Springhill, she was one of eleven children
of the late Arthur Gabriel and Eva (Izzard) Gabriel.
Ida enjoyed music, playing TV Bingo, yard saling and most of
all spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind, giving,
loving soul who opened her heart and her doors to all of us who knew
her as Mom, Mama, Nan, Gran, Sis, Auntie and many other terms of
endearment.
Ida is survived by her children, son, Larry (Donna) Silvea of
Springhill; daughters, Eunice (Gary) Chaulk and Denise (Roy) Hunter
both of Springhill, Edith (Fred) Ferdinand and Louise (Al) Greaves,
both of Ontario; sisters, Lourena Ashe of Springhill, Hilda Pye of
Halifax and Arvilla Anderson of Ontario as well as several
grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces
and nephews. Her legacy will live on threw all of them.
She was predeceased by several siblings; sons, Jerry Silvea
and Ronald Silvea; daughter, Lucille; husband, Wesley William Silvea;
common law husband, Tony MacDonald and grandchildren as well as great
grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored. She has been taken
home on Angel’s Wings to be reunited with them.

A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). Honouring Ida’s wishes, cremation
has taken place and a private family Graveside Service will take place
in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
Ida’s children would like to invite family and friends to
drop in for a time of sharing in memories and condolences at Ida’s
home, 121 McGee Street, Springhill, over the weekend on
Saturday,November 19, and Sunday, November 20, 2022.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of
Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for the wonderful care Ida
received during her short stay there. Special thank-you to Dr.
Karivelil and the Nurses at All Saints Hospital for the care and
kindness she was given over the years.
