My heart is broken. Ian was my buddy and neighbour for a number of decades on Degrassi St..with only 5 houses between us. Countless hours were spent at each other’s place but mostly at # 12 due to Jo-Anne’s culinary skills. One of my fondest memories is of Jan. 3 1993 playing euchre at # 12…Ian was my partner and we beat the shit out of Jo-Anne and Will Johnston..Will who worked with Jo-Anne at the Don Jail was also my ex-student in high school…thus making # 12 a wonderful and fun second home for me on Degrassi St..I was ALWAYS welcome there with impeccable hospitality and love. I was devastated when Ian and Jo-Anne moved to a wee town miles from me. Still, to this day, every time i pass #12 i whisper a little greeting to my dear buds whose spirit still perpetuates on Degrassi st and along Queen St..right to Roy’s Pub…Ian and Jo’s pace to let loose after they closed their :Degrassi Street Pub.
“..and when the earth shall consume your limps, then shall you truly dance”
Think of Ian looking down upon us, from above, especially the love of his life, his beloved Jo-Anne, and dancing up a storm.
Rest in peace my lovely friend. Thank you for being on my Train of Life and leaving me with precious memories of the times we shared and celebrated the glory of each other’s friendship..
