Obituary of Hugh Dugald Craig
It is with profound sadness that we announce the recent passing of Hugh Dugald Craig on the 6th of February 2022, at Hospice Quinte, in Belleville Ontario. Hugh was a devoted husband, brother, son-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. Born on March 12, 1957, in Alliston Ontario, he was the youngest of a military family who moved several times before finally settling in the Quinte area. A lover of nature and the outdoors, Hugh enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially his regular fall expeditions with the cousins near Rupert, Quebec. An avid car enthusiast, he appreciated anything to do with automobiles and their inner workings. Rebuilding the Anglia provided Hugh immeasurable enjoyment and delight for many, many years. His stories, photos and Hugh, himself, will be dearly missed.
Hugh is predeceased by his parents, Ted & Evelyn (Kilgour) Craig; and in-laws, Paul Jackson, Sharon Craig and Brian Eisan. Left with broken hearts but wonderful memories are his wife of 42 years, Donna Lee (Eisan); his brothers, Dave, Don (Clare), and his sister Diane (Tim) McPherson; and his in-laws: Roy (Ike) and Frances Eisan, Colleen (Rob) Gilmour, Kim (Gary) Elliott, Jamie (Shelly) Eisan and Isabel Symington. Hugh will also be warmly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their children, as well as a large circle of extended family members and friends. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street West, Belleville (steelefuneralhome.ca). A celebration of Hugh’s life and his interment will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice Quinte or Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward would be appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Hugh
