We are sad to have to share with family and friends the passing of Hugh Dean Bayne. On April 5, 2022 at the age of 94, we had to say goodbye.
He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Celestina; son, William and daughter-in-law, Anna, daughter, Janet and son-in-law, Chay; grandson, Morgan; granddaughters; Alisha, Megan and Vanessa.
His brothers, Floyd, Wendell and Keith; sisters, Dorothy Shelton, Verla Clarke and Elnora Cook and his son, Tom have all gone ahead of him and we pray they are all reunited now.
Hugh packed many experiences into his long life. Wherever he stopped to live for a time, he gained a wealth of knowledge and skills from every facet of life and every relationship he built. He was known for his sense of humour.
He worked hard, but still found time to curl, golf, dance, play cards and he loved to sing. He was employed in a wide variety of ways until he was called by God and became a minister for the United Church of Canada.
We wish to thank the staff of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their care in Hugh’s last hours and the support and care of the staff of McConachie Gardens for both Hugh and Celestina over the past couple of very trying years of Covid. Thanks also to grandchildren, Morgan and Megan Kan, Alisha Sawich and Vanessa Lewis for being honorary pallbearers.
We will celebrate Hugh’s long and richly varied life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert.
Attendees are asked to please wear a mask for the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Society or to cancer research in the area of lymphoma.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Hugh Dean Bayne 2022..
