C’est avec grande tristesse que la famille annonce le décès de Horace Joseph Bernard, le 23 Septembre, 2022 a l’age de 90 ans. Fils de feu Joseph Bernard et feu Marie Blanche (née Hurtubise) Bernard. Epoux bien-aimée de Annette (née Malo) Bernard. Père bien-aimé de Francine (Robert) Laforest, Diane Bernard (Gilbert Pharand), Sylvie (Ronnie) Gaudette, René (Karen) Bernard, Marc (Lise) Bernard, André (Gina) Bernard. Grand-père adoré de 19 petits-enfants, Mélanie, Maxine, Eric, Patrick, Carolynn, Linda, Gaetan, Julie, Lynn, Adam, Marcel, Daniel, Tia, Matthew, Brody, Meaghan, Michael, Robert, Brandon et 30 arrières petits-enfants.
Précédé par ses frères et soeurs. Il laisse aussi de nombreux neveux et nièces qui l’aimait beacoup.
Horace était un homme extraordinaire. Il avait une grande joie de vivre. Il aimais tous le monde. Toujours de bonne humeur et prêt a aider. Il adorait sa femme et ces enfants et leurs familles. Il répétait souvent que sa femme et sa famille était sa plus grande richesse. Rien ne lui fesait plus de plaisir que de passé du temps avec eux. Il était un père et grand-père dévoué et tellement fier de tous.
Horace a déménagé sa famille de Timmins à Hanmer en 1969. Il travaillait dans la construction et a commencer sa propre compagnie – Horace Bernard Construction Limitée. Il a construit un grand nombre de maison, la majorité à Dowling, Val Caron, Hanmer et Timmins. Il a continuer de travailler fort toute sa vie, batissant sa dernière maison a l’age de 75 ans.
Le départ de Horace laisse un grand vide dans le coeurs de ses êtres chers. Nous ne l’oublierons jamais.
Un service funéraire aura lieu au salon funéraire Lougheed Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4605 Michelle Dr., Hanmer, le mercredi 28 septembre 2022 à 11h30. (Les amis peuvent appeler de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 21h le mardi ou après 10h le mercredi). Crémation au crématorium de Park Lawn. Des dons à la Fondation NEO Kids seraient appréciés.
It is with great sadness that the family of Horace Joseph Bernard announce his peaceful passing with his family by his side, on September 23, 2022 at the age of 90, 15 days before is 91st birthday. Beloved and cherished husband of 69 years of Annette Bernard (Malo). Devoted and cherished father of Francine (Robert) Laforest, Diane Bernard (Gilbert Pharand), Sylvie (Ronnie) Gaudette, René (Karen) Bernard, Marc (Lise) Bernard, André (Gina) Bernard. Maxine, Eric, Patrick, Carolynn, Linda, Gaetan, Julie, Lynn, Adam, Marcel, Daniel, Tia, Matthew, Brody, Meaghan, Michael, Robert, Brandon and 30 great-granchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph Bernard and Marie-Blanche Bernard (Hurtubise) and all his siblings.
He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Horace loved life. He was a devoted and loving husband and the greatest father in the world. He enjoyed spending time with his family which he was so proud of. Horace will forever be remembered as a great family man. We are very grateful for the great family values he instilled in all of us. He made everyone feel cherished and loved.
Horace moved his family from Timmins to Hanmer in 1969. He was working in construction at the time and shortly after started his own company – Horace Bernard Construction Limitée. He built a large amount of homes in the area, mostly in Dowling, Val Caron, Hanmer and Timmins. He had great pride in his work and was well liked by everyone. He worked hard all his life, building his last house at the age of 75.
He will truly be missed but never forgotten.

(Friends may call 2-5 and 7-9pm Tuesday, or after 10 am Wednesday). Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to NEO Kids Foundation would be appreciated.
