Hilda Ivy Frisky was born November 28, 1936, to Bert and Alice Hawley, the sixth of what was to be ten children. Mom was born in the rural municipality of Arborfield and lived there her entire life. Hilda attended school in Arborfield and married her childhood sweetheart Butch (Norman) Frisky in 1953. They were married 55 years until Butch’s death in 2008. Mom missed her partner every day.
Mom’s life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She never missed an activity they were involved in. Hilda loved to read and play cards. She enjoyed baking and knitting for family and friends. Mom loved flowers and always grew a garden. She worked as a noon-hour supervisor at the school (a job she would have done for nothing) and loved having the kids call her Granny.
Hilda is survived by her seven children, Gord (Ruth), Larry (Sharon), Glen (Cheryl), Allan (Viola), Sandra (Ray), Diane (Kenn), and Blaine. As well as 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Hilda’s beloved grandchildren; Jennifer (Pete) Herd: Kylee (Maverick and Tenley), Trey and Seth; Jordan Frisky: Tobias and Ivy; Lee Frisky; Sharla (Dave) Haggett: Aubrey and Hudson; Marlon Frisky; Tyrel (Tracy) Frisky: Emma and Jack; Mark Frisky; Richard Frisky: Evyn and Kaci; Cara (Jamie) Ong: Maddox and Kherington; Jillian (Danny) Ortynski: Maddie, Nash and Hannah; Josh (Taylor) Frisky: Rowan and Tage; Devin (Dee) Ralph: Rory and Van; Garett (Ambrely) Ralph: Liam and Hazel; Stephanie Ralph; Jared (Danika) Ralph: Jessie, Lennon and Sammy; Kenneth Burningham; Sarah (Keir) Burningham: Emily and Molly; Amy (Julien) Burningham: Gabriel and Benjamin; Sierra (Cory) Wallace: Videl; Katie (Taylor) Frisky; Allison (Jacob) Frisky and Elizabeth Frisky; and special friends Bill (Margie) Cragg. She is also survived by two sisters Margaret Wilson and Pat (Keith) Doherty, a sisters-in-law, Ona Hawley and Anne Frisky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Hilda is predeceased by her husband Butch, daughter-in-law Bernice (Sawatzky) Frisky, son-in-law Kirby Burningham, great-granddaughter Aspen Ralph, two brothers Tom and Doug, and Five sisters Eleanor, Francis, Rose, Muriel, and Ada; Butch’s brothers Henry and George and Butch’s sister Suzanne Thiessen.
