Obituary of Herbert Merle Lovely
Herbert Merle Lovely late of Regina, SK passed away peacefully after a brief illness on April 29, 2022 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Blanche; sisters, Audrey, Ellen, Irene and Millie; brothers, Bill, Lloyd and Richard, and nephews Jeff and Chris.
Herb is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Eleanor (Schlinski); his daughter Karen; sons Bruce (Barb) and Steven (Adrienne); grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob), Jillian (Taylor), Joseph, and Elizabeth; step grandchildren, Shannon and Troy; great-grandchildren Hunter and Veronica; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Herb worked for Imperial Oil from 1958 until he retired in 1990. He enjoyed his free time doing the things he loved. Golfing at the Tor Hill and Flowing Springs, and he also enjoyed curling at the Tartan Curling Club.
He loved spending time in his workshop building furniture and birdhouses. Herb shared his woodworking skills with St. James United Church for numerous projects. He never missed the opportunity to meet his friends for coffee at the Albert North A&W. Herb was the happiest when he spent time with friends and family. When grandchildren entered his life, he cherished all the time he spent with them.
At Herb’s request there will be a private celebration of his life.
