Herbert Herbie Dean 2022

We, the family of Herbert Dean, regret to announce his passing on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born December 26, 1941, in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Herbert and Rita (Francais) Dean.
Herbie worked in the Broughton Coal Mine until moving to Toronto where he worked as an Orderly at Sunnnybrook Hospital. In 1977, he moved home to Cape Breton and worked at the Sydney City Hospital before finishing his career at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after 25 years of service. Anytime you met him in the halls at the hospital, he was always on the move or as Herbie would say, he was “bootin’er and drivin’er.
Herbie is survived by his sister, Edna Martin, Glace Bay and brothers, Gordon (Chris), Birch Grove, George (Mona), Dartmouth, Carley (Debbie), Glace Bay, Lloyd (Barb), Halifax, Lewis (Patsy), Glace Bay, Leonard (Elaine), Broughton, Percy (Chris), ON, Roy, Glace Bay and Mohan, Eastern Passage.
Besides his parents, Herbie was predeceased by his wife, Lucille (Aucoin); sister, Anita; and brothers, Allan, Johnny, Robert and Jim.
A private family graveside service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca
Herbie will be remembered as easy going and pleasant. His friendliness and cheerfulness will never be forgotten.
