Obituary
IVINS, Herbert Jerome- It is with great sadness that we the family of Herb announce his passing on Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, in his 88th year. Herb was married to his wife Gayle Ivins (nee Taylor) for 63 years and they have 3 children, Scott (Heather), Laurie (Jeff McDonald), and Heather (Kevin) Smith. They have 9 grandchildren, Melissa (Greg), Melanie (Mike), Adam (Hanna), Dale (Jayme), Aaron (Jenn), Jason, Abigayle (Jerry), Jordan, and Jenna (Jacob). His great grandchildren are Cooper, Sawyer, Callie, Conner, Dayna, Emily, Aiden, Quintin, Jackson, Hanson, Lileigh, Iyla, Finley, Declan, Ryland, Jonah, and Jett. Brother in-law to George and Anna Taylor. Predeceased by his parents Charlie and May Ivins and siblings Ted, Audrey, Frank, and Violet. Son-in-law to William and Florence Taylor. Herb will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. Herb was a member of the St. George’s Anglican Church, Mt. Olivet Lodge #300 Thorndale and a past member of Thorndale TWP Council and Thorndale Optimist and an active coach of many baseball teams over the years. Herb worked at Canadian Linen Supply for over 30 years. Cremation and a private family service have taken place. A graveside service will be held in the spring with the date to be announced pending Covid restrictions. If desired, memorial contributions to St. George’s Church, Thorndale or the Mt.
