Henry G. Mahlmann 1931- 2022
Peacefully at the Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket, on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the age of 91 years the family of Henry G. Mahlmann regret to inform of his passing. Predeceased by his daughter Ingrid in 2006, and his wife Magdalena in 2017, he is finally reunited with them. Survived by his nephew Caesar Mahlmann and niece Sylvia Mahlmann. Henry came to Canada as a young man from Germany to seek a new opportunity. He enjoyed a fulfilling career in the construction industry, including international, national, and local projects. His family life started modestly in a small home on Dawson Ave in east Toronto, but his dream was to be a gentleman farmer in the country. That dream was realized in the home which he built with his own hands, on Old Homestead Rd. in Sutton West Ontario. He lived that life fully, including the celebrations and the tragedies, for almost 60yrs. At his request, cremation has not been delayed and there will be no formal service. Friends and acquaintances are encouraged to spend a moment reflecting on their own memories of a kind, patient, and generous man. The exceptional care and attention by all the health care professionals to preserve his dignity and comfort during his declining days is acknowledged and gratefully appreciated. With that in mind, memorial donations to the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket are appreciated. Memorial condolences may be made at www.forrestandtaylor.com
