Henry Weitzman 2022

Henry Weitzman
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Weitzman on Friday, January 21, 2022, in his ninetieth year. Beloved husband of his sweetheart, Ethel Mogil, for sixty-nine years. Loving and caring father and father-in-law of Gayle Weitzman-Ostrander and Peter Ostrander, Leslie and Merilee Calderon Weitzman. Proud Zaide of Jordan, Adam, and Jennifer Weitzman and Dr. Avi Saskin, Evan and Kelsey Ostrander. Adoring great-Zaide of Sunny Rose Saskin. Dear brother of the late Mary and the late Bernie Caplan, Abe and the late Rhoda Weitzman. Caring brother-in-law of the late Gilbert Mogil, Lily and the late Benny Flamer. Predeceased by his parents, Miriam and Gershon Weitzman, and Ethel’s parents, Bessie and Joseph Mogil.
Mentor, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and a friend to many, Henry worked hard from a very young age, first at the family business, Park Bakery, and then went on to build one of Montreal’s leading real estate companies. Henry was a pioneer and visionary, determined and unstoppable, a true renaissance man. Although most would say that he was a great businessman, his real talent was in the relationships that he forged throughout his life, from people that he worked with, family, and friends. Henry was a giant of a man. They just don’t make them like that anymore. What a privilege to have had him in our lives. A private funeral service will be held. Shiva private. Donations in Henry’s memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Henry Weitzman 2022..
