Henry Sipila ascended into Heaven at Chateau Park Lodge on August 29, 2022. Beloved husband of Carol (formerly Mayer) Sipila. They were partners/spouses for 25 years. Beloved father of James Sipila, Amber Sipila, Amber’s 5 children – Jaron, Violet, Juliet, Evrin and Leif. Former father-in-law to Chris Mountcalm.
He was with the children’s mother Susan Sipala (nee Hayes) for 20 years until her passing in 1987. Survived by Susan’s 5 siblings. He is also survived by his mother Anita Sipila (Owen Sound), his brother Michael Sipila (Owen Sound), and his sister Karen Stanbridge and her husband Pete, nephew Chris (C.J.) and niece Dana (Newfoundland). Predeceased by his father Aarre Sipila. Step-father of Carol’s two children, Jason (Jennifer) Mayer and Stacy (Harvey) Mayer.
Square dancing partner of Patricia Bergeron. Henry was Clerk-Treasurer of Belle River from 1973 – 1990. It was his idea to build the Marina, which he was very proud about. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to the Hospice of Windsor and Families First, they have both been wonderful.
