Obituary of Henricus Marinus Lamers
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Henricus “Henry” Lamers at the age of 94 on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg which has been his home for the past 5 years. Born in Mill, the Netherlands, the son of the late Marinus and Antonia (Willemse) Lamers. Beloved husband of the late Mechtilda “Tilly” Lamers (nee Janssen) (1985) and dear friend of the late Joyce (Lynn) McEllistrum (nee Pierce) (2011). Father of Joanne and Ric Young of Wallaceburg, Henrietta June and spouse Alan Scott of Chatham, Gary and Betty Jean Lamers of Dresden and John Lamers of Thamesville. Grandfather of Debbie Young (Sharon) of Guelph, David Young (Tina) of Wallaceburg, Dwayne June (Cindy) of Dresden and Tim Lamers of Dresden. Step grandfather of Rachel Jackson of Bothwell. Great grandfather of Carter, Cayden and Taylor Young, Tyler June, Tristan and Taylyn Lamers. Brother of Nellie Van Eenbergen (Pete) of the Netherlands. Henry and Tilly immigrated in 1951 from the Netherlands and raised their family in the Dresden area. Henry is predeceased by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. A private family service will be held at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, Dresden with interment to follow in Dresden Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff at Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg for their excellent care of Henry for the past 5 years especially with the challenges of the last 2 years.
