Helmut Hartleb 2022

We are announcing with deep sadness the passing of Helmut, on August 28, 2022 at the age of 86 in Windsor, ON.
He fought courageously to the end with hope and optimism. He was an incredible and much loved family man. Beloved husband to Joan (nee Doiron). Cherished father, grandpa and great grandpa, of Susan Dubois, her daughter Sheena and her sons, Julien and Liam; Heather (Michel) Lortie and their children, the late David (2020) and Katherine; Morag (Doug) Clark and their children, Shonagh and Andrew; Gwenyth (Stephanie) Smith and their son Korben. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Ingrid Burghardt, in Germany.
Helmut was a tool and dye maker by trade when he immigrated to Canada. He completed his Engineering degree and spent most of his career at Northern Telecom where he retired as a divisional manager in Montreal. He was a generous volunteer with the Montreal Highland Dancing Association and was the only kilt wearing German president of the Montreal Highland Games. His sense of humour was sharp and entertaining, leaving lasting memories and stories for all. He was a man who could overcome any challenge. In his spare time he used to enjoy walking is dogs and in his prime was a cycling, golf, swimming, and cross country ski enthusiast.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Shoreview at Riverside for their compassionate care.
In memory of Helmut, please donate your time and be a volunteer.
A private family service has already been held. Arrangements were entrusted to Families First, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor (519-969-5841).
