Obituary of Helen Long
Long, Helen of Aylmer passed away peacefully with family by her side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, May 27, 2022 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Long(1982). Dear mother of Michael(Sheila) of London, Ken(Joan) of Forest, Irene Thompson(late D’arcy) of Lambton Shore, and Patrick(Marian) of Aylmer. Loving grandmother of Patrick, Justin, Trevor, Heather, Cody, Scott, Reid, Patricia, and Jessica. She will be missed by 12 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia on January 15, 1932, daughter of the late William and Eva(Mombourquette) Walsh. Helen was the remaining survivor of 12 siblings. She was heavily involved in food services in Aylmer for many years. Helen was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church and the Aylmer Legion. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00-8:00pm where the funeral service will be held on Monday, May 30, 2022 at 11:00am. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
