Obituary of Helen Friesen
FRIESEN, HELEN (nee Klassen) – Passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 4th, 2022. Predeceased by her husband John (2009). Survived by and loving mother to daughter Nancy (Goertzen) of Oshawa and son Ronald of Niagara Falls. Also survived by sisters Mary (Koop), Tillie (Hall), Charlotte (Willms) and brother Peter. Predeceased by sisters Margaret, Kaye, Agnes, Lora and brothers John and Daniel. Loving Grandmother to Larry, Douglas, Randy, Lisa (Gordon), David, Eric, Jennifer and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Helen was born on April 12, 1919 in the Ukraine. She was the eldest daughter of John (1976) and Helene (1971) Klassen. The family moved from Russia to Canada in 1925, settling in Saskatchewan initially and then moving to Ontario in 1932. While working on a farm in the Vineland area she met John, and they married in 1944. Helen spent many years working as a seamstress and upholsterer for J. Lemke Assoc. in St. Catharines. She also was an avid and dedicated church member at the former United Missionary Church on Linwell Road in St. Catharines and later at Bethany Community Church where she taught and administered the Sunday School program for many years.
Best remembered for her kindness to all she met and her strong faith in God. (John 3:16)

Cremation and has taken place. Private family gathering for internment and
Celebration of Helen’s life will be announced at a later date. Rest in Peace. Thou Good and Faithful Servant.
