Helen’s Obituary
McCormick, Helen May ~ 85 of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Valley Hospice, Kentville. She was a daughter of the late Alphonsus and Catherine (Armstrong) McCormick. Helen enjoyed flower gardening, hummingbirds, cooking, canning preserves and family gatherings. She loved her pets Mitsy & Teddy dearly. While Helen was in high school, she worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Lavers and then Dr. Kelland. She later worked as a receptionist for Dr. MacConnell. Helen is survived by her sisters, Glenna Uhlman, Duncan, BC; Catherine Goucher, Amesbury, Mass; Genevieve Weatherby, Wawa, ON; Shirley Sharpe, Crofton, BC; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Helen is predeceased by her sister, Elsie Goetz, Winnipeg, AB; brothers, Donald MacLellan, England; James McCormick, Wetaskiwin, AB; and William McCormick, Wainwright, AB. The family would like to extend a special thanks to sister-in-law Sandra McCormick and wonderful friends Leigh and Lavern MacConnell for all their help. A family graveside service will be held on Thursday June 9, 2022 with Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating in Church Grove Cemetery, Melvern Square. Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to SPCA or any animal charity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448.
