Helen Elizabeth Stapleton, age 79, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2022 at
the Health Sciences Centre, Cardiac Care Unit.
She was born on December 11, 1942 in Lance Cove, Bell Island of the late Terrance
and Ellen (nee Murphy) Kennedy.
A wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother too, this is the legacy we
have from you. You taught us love, gave us strength and led by example with your
kindness. For all of us, you gave your best and now the time has come for you to rest.
Leaving with many fond memories and to celebrate her life, her daughters; Glenda and
Teresita (Chris), her sons; Randy (Sandra), Phil (Sherry) and Art, and her fur-baby,
Bailey. Eleven grandchildren; Meghan (Johnny), Sarah (William), Stacey (Jonathan),
Bradley (Jennifer), Melissa (Brad), Justin, Nicholas, Brady, Jessica, Teresita (Keith) and
Michelle (Andrew). Ten great-grandchildren; Ryder, Abby- Lynn, Kaycee, Emerson,
Liam, Aleah, Anderson, Owen, Isaac and Felix. Her sister, Margaret, her brother,
Nelson, sisters-in-law; Linda, Doris, and Liz, brother-in-law, Harold, and many nieces,
nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur; her parents; Terrance and Ellen; her
sisters; Regina, Teresa and Minnie; her brothers; Ned, Ted, Phil and Dave; her
parents-in-law; Winnifred and Thomas Stapleton.
Thank-you to the staff of the Health Sciences Centre, Cardiac Care Unit. Their kindness
and compassion will never be forgotten. A special thank-you to Robyn, RN who went
above and beyond for our family at this difficult time.
Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday, September
28, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be celebrated at Carnell’s Memorial
Chapel on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 11am with interment to follow at St.
Thomas of Villanova Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
