Helen Dianne Tait Saturday November 26th 2022

Helen “DIANNE” Tait
Born: February 9th, 1941, Paris, Ontario
Died: November 26, 2022, Brampton, Ontario
Daughter to Gordon and Helen Broughton (pre-deceased), sister to Ruth Soutter and Bill Broughton (pre-deceased). Beloved Mother to Johnna Lee Tait (James Lawson) and Colin Tait (Sarah Gay). Treasured Aunt to Ruthanne, Jennifer, and Jocelyn Soutter, Kim Broughton and Great-Aunt to their children. Loving Grandmother to Stella, Oliver, Gavin and Great-Grandmother to Abby.
It is with sad hearts we share the passing of Dianne Tait after a long illness. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
A private cremation has already taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held in the New Year.
Dianne was a passionate teacher, a gifted artist, a dedicated curator and genealogist, as well as a voracious reader and writer. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. James the Apostle’s Church.
Dianne’s strength of spirit was only out-weighed by her limitless kindness and generosity. She treasured and nurtured relationships with family and friends, continuously uplifted others, and always remembered to show thanks for her many blessings and appreciation for others.
She will be fondly remembered for her great love for her many dogs throughout her lifetime, her beautiful stained glass creations, the countless baby blankets she crocheted for new families, her enthusiasm for tea parties, and her famous but unique chicken soup.
Her free-spirited attitude, ability to work hard to continuously improve herself, strong independent nature, and sense of humour will be greatly missed.
A special thank you goes out to the caregiving team at Grace Manor and Holland Christian Homes for their dedication and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society cancer.ca/en/ or the Holland Christian Homes/Grace Manor Family Council www.hch.ca/donate/
I’d like the memory of me
To be a happy one
I’d like to leave an afterglow
Of smiles when the day is done
I’d like to leave an echo
Whispering softly down the ways
Of happy times, and laughing times
And bright sunny days
I’d like the tears of those who grieve
To dry before the sun
Of happy memories and I leave
Behind – when the day is done
