Heinrich (Henry) Schroeder passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 16, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Helene, of 63 years, their four children, daughter Christine (Colin); sons Al (Janice), Gary (Margie) and David (Joy) and sister Sarah; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Heinrich Schroeder, better known by family and friends as “Henry”, was born to Johan J. Schroeder and Helena Kehler in Manitoba, on May 18, 1934. They were a family of eleven children, where Henry was the third youngest. Henry, along with his parents, moved to B. C. in April 1936. In July 1948, when he was a teenager, along with his parents moved to Paraguay, and lived there approximately six years. In 1954 they moved back to B. C.
In May 1959, Henry was baptized for his confession of faith. His baptism verse was John 3:16 KJV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.
